My lady is at rest

Postby jochanaan » Sat Mar 22, 2014 9:17 am

My lady, Tamaralee Thundercloud Dolan, "Tammie" to her friends, died peacefully at about 6:45am Mountain Daylight time in the Denver Hospice. Her struggles and sufferings are over. Walk in beauty, my love.

In such cases of death of one who is so close to another I find it difficult to know what to say. I feel deeply for those who mourn but doubt that even when I shed tears of empathy that I can even approximate the grief that the one who is now bereft feels. I lost my eldest son a few years ago whose life succumbed to disease and ended on his 37th birthday to the very day, far too young!. I know the grief beyond consolation that brought to me. Paul's words, in 1Thessalonians 4:, offer truth which can be consolation but do not fill the void in our hearts, but at least are a salve to aid the healing which will nevertheless take time.
1Thessalonians 4:
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

It is not Paul's wish that we do not sorrow but rather that we do not sorrow hopelessly as others might.

Mungu amweke pema peponi - may God put her in a good place in the heavenlies, say the Waswahili. Which fits with the "at rest" and is compatible with the reunion to come.

Jochanaan, no words can ever relieve all the orrow and suffering you must now feel but know Tammie is now at rest and believe you will join her in reunion again some day, in a happier place for you both.

Condolences my dear Brother. I lost my first wife in 1997, so I understand the loss.

God bless!
