I also agree with everyone who's against the harsh black background. A darker color would be good, but not solid black.

And let me say, it is wonderful to see a lady chime in on a strip - welcome, Sarah!

Maybe this can be easily fixed with a "font color" change and the same problem exists at the page footer as well:

I never met anyone that I could not learn something from.

BareTruth has a good point. A light background needs a dark font, & a dark background needs a light font.

And I must admit, whenever I read anything on the internet that's white text over black, I feel like my retinas are burning! (That could be a Seinfeld reference) Because any computer screen is essentially a light source, it's easier on the eyes to read lines of dark text over white, just like a reading lamp shining on a newspaper.

How about this color scheme ladies and gents, for a "softer", "kinder", "gentler" look and feel to the site?

Not bad, but the blue-on-blue headers are still difficult to read. Maybe a contrasting color for the header font?

Or the frame directly below the logo, the one with the links to the Board Index, Welcome Center, etc.

Wow! Now everything is easy to read!
Let's stick with this color scheme, please.

An interesting phenomenon; on my Android device, the new color scheme shows up correctly in the home screen, but it reverts back to the black background and blue lettering on any of the forum or search screens.

I even flushed my cache.

Hmmmm. :-?
