Not that this can't happen anywhere to any ministry, but given that these "faith ministers" like to portray themselves as all but perfect and living charmed lives, it would seem that they are not the "gods" they tell everyone they are...

ATLANTA — Megachurch pastor and televangelist Creflo Dollar – who has drawn scrutiny for his flashy lifestyle and preaching that prosperity is good – was arrested early Friday after authorities say he slightly hurt his 15-year-old daughter in a fight at his metro Atlanta home.

Fayette County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of domestic violence at the home in unincorporated Fayette County around 1 a.m., said investigator Brent Rowan. The pastor and his daughter were arguing over whether she could go to a party when Dollar "got physical" with her, leaving her with "superficial injuries," Rowan said.

Dollar’s 19-year-old daughter corroborated most of her sister’s story, but Dollar disputed it, telling a sheriff’s deputy he was trying to restrain her when she became disrespectful. When she began to hit back, he wrestled her to the floor and spanked her, according to the police report.

Dollar faces misdemeanor charges of simple battery and cruelty to children, after his 15-year-old daughter called 911 Friday night to report her father punched and choked her. The story was reportedly corroborated by her 19-year-old sister.

The police report states the altercation turned physical when Dollar tried to restrain his upset daughter. She began to hit back, which allegedly led the pastor to tackle his daughter to the ground and spank her.

The girl called 911 after she went to the kitchen, upset. Dollar asked why she was crying, and she told him, "I don't want to talk right now," which led the pastor to charge her, wrap his hands around her throat, punch her and hit her with her show, according to the report.

Dollar reportedly told the Fayette County sheriff's deputy that his daughter wasn't allowed to go to the party because of poor grades.

It's sad to see anyone especially those who are employed in trying to teach the word of God fall into wayward paths.

As for spanking or physical punishment for a 15 year old?? Well I dare say if you haven't built a relationship that can work with a child by the time they reach 15, it definitely won't work to get physical with them. I can see an occasional swat or spanking for a young child but by the time you hit the teens it's a waste of time and generally shows problems with the parent and not the child.

Very good points. Sad thing about it, I have talked to a few people at Dollar's church about some of their doctrinal points of view, and without a doubt I can tell you, they believe this man to be utterly without error in his teachings which include statements such as...

"Jesus wasn't God and wasn't perfect"

"tithing is your covenant connector to God" (...not the blood, not the cross of Jesus, but tithing.)

"Adam's sin in the garden was a failure to tithe."

"Jesus' death on the cross did not redeem anyone" (...that was supposed to happen as Jesus burned in hell for three days.)

...etc. very sad stuff coming from Dollar. And that is just the tip of the iceberg with this man.

If Dollar does not even believe in the same Jesus that we do, there is the root of the problem.

In Mexico, the name Jesus is in common use for boys and intends no irreverence.
I often passed a car repair shop where the name of the owner of the shop, Jesus Delgado,
was prominently displayed over the top of the store.

This Jesus was a reputable mechanic, but this "Jesus" is not my Lord and Savior.

So if Dollar preaches some sort of Jesus that is not Lord and not sinless, it is not the Jesus that St. Paul and the Apostles preached.

For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super-apostles." II Corinthians 11:4-5

As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! Galatians 1:9

Actually,

Jesus ("Yeshua", "Joshuah") was a common name in the 1st century. One must be distinct about WHICH "Jesus" they are referring to. Only one is eternal and everlasting God and Son of God, the Great I Am. Only one condescended to be born of a virgin, lived a perfectly sinless life and died for our sins. Only one was resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father to judge the living and the dead and to have dominion over all of creation. Any Jesus can be our lord, but only one Jesus can be our Lord. Only one Jesus can be our Saviour.

You are very welcome. And you would think Copeland and his cronies would understand that when God says "I witness this day before you that I will have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME" that they would understand that God will have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE HIM; no "little gods," "big gods," "medium gods," "or any gods." (Exodus 20:3) and "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5)

Not long ago Kenneth Copeland was claiming that "Adam's sin in the garden was failing to tithe." Another idiotic claim completely without Biblical merit or foundation. But I guess when you build doctrine from these four words often used by Kenneth Copeland; "Jesus said to me," who needs the Bible when creating your OWN doctrine? Just claim that "Jesus told you so." Don't worry, ignorant Christians will believe you as they pour the funds into the money plate as it passes by.
